Job Description

Highway 92 Animal Hospital is a full-service veterinary clinic located on Highway 92. The hospital is equipped with two veterinarians, four exam rooms, and dedicated cat and dog entrances. It offers a supportive and hands-on learning environment for veterinary students.

About the Role

Students will work closely with the supervising veterinarian to gain practical experience in various aspects of veterinary care. This includes:

  • Gathering patient histories
  • Performing physical exams
  • Creating treatment plans
  • Diagnostics
  • Dentistry services
  • Observing or assisting surgical procedures
  • Managing medical cases

The externship typically lasts from two to eight weeks, depending on the schedules of both the student and the hospital. All veterinary students, regardless of their class year, are welcome to participate in these externships.

Responsibilities

During their externship, students will:

  • Practice their clinical skills under supervision
  • Communicate effectively with the medical team, support staff, and clients
