Veterinary Extern - General Practice

About the role

An externship experience at Forest Hills Veterinary Care, A PetOne Veterinary Hospital, will provide students with hands-on clinical experience and insight into the daily operations of a veterinary practice.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the supervising veterinarian to gather patient histories, perform physical exams, create treatment plans, conduct diagnostics, perform dental services, assist/supervise surgical procedures, and manage medical cases.
• Practice communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.

Requirements

Veterinary students (all class years) are encouraged to participate. No specific experience or qualifications are required, but strong academic performance and interest in veterinary medicine are preferred.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have a strong academic record, enthusiasm for veterinary medicine, and a desire to learn more about animal healthcare. Prior experience is not necessary, but a genuine passion for the field is essential.
