Responsibilities
- Participate in routine and complex medical and surgical care for animals.
- Assist in dental procedures, including extractions and cleanings.
- Contribute to the daily operations of the hospital, including scheduling and managing appointments.
- Collaborate with the MDVM and part-time DVM on orthopedic surgeries and dentistry.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled veterinary students in the clinical portion of their education.
- Passionate about animal care and interested in gaining practical experience.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact with clients and other staff.
Qualifications
- Must be enrolled in a recognized veterinary school.
- Passing score on the North American Veterinary Licensing Exam (NAVLE) or passing score on the North American Veterinary Licensing Examination (NAVLE) if not yet licensed.
Skills
- Basic knowledge of veterinary medicine and surgery.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally.

Pay
Travel/living expense stipends are available for veterinary students participating in NVA externships.
Schedule
