Veterinary Extern - General Practice

Doctor Schedule

• Full-time doctors work 40 hours per week.
• Relief doctor works variable hours based on need.
• Doctors get 90-minute lunch breaks and a few 30-minute blocks during their day.

Externship Program

• Program is open to 3rd and 4th year veterinary students.
• Students work closely with supervising veterinarians to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of veterinary care.
• Experiences range from two to eight weeks, depending on schedules.
• Students have the opportunity to practice communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.
• Veterinary students can receive a travel/living expense stipend.
