Veterinary Extern - General Practice
About the role
Cherry Hill Animal Hospital is a 4 full-time and 1 part-time doctor companion animal hospital. Our Fear Free certified clinic combines a community and family feel with state-of-the-art technology. We offer routine wellness and illness care, ultrasonography, digital radiographs, dental radiographs, cutting laser, therapeutic cold laser, and behavior medicine.
Responsibilities
- Gain experience in gathering patient histories
- Perform physical exams
- Create treatment plans
- Diagnose and manage illnesses
- Perform dental services
- Assist or perform surgical procedures
- Communicate with the medical team, support staff, and clients
Qualifications
Veterinary students (regardless of class year) are encouraged to participate in NVA externships. Students must be in the clinical portion of their education to be eligible for a travel/living expense stipend. The stipend amount for Cherry Hill Animal Hospital is $500.
Skills
Students will develop clinical and communication skills under supervision.
