Veterinary Extern - General Practice

About the role

An externship experience at All Creatures Animal Clinic will provide students with a unique opportunity to understand the day-to-day operations of the practice and gain valuable hands-on clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with supervising Associate Veterinarians
• Gather patient histories
• Perform physical exams
• Create treatment plans
• Perform diagnostics
• Provide dental services
• Assist or perform surgical procedures
• Manage medical care for patients
• Practice communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients

Qualifications

All veterinary students (regardless of class year) are encouraged to participate in NVA externships. Veterinary students in the clinical portion of their education are eligible for a travel/living expense stipend. Details on the stipend program can be found here.
