Veterinary Extern - General Practice

About the role

An externship experience at an NVA hospital will provide students with unique insights into the daily operations and clinical practices of animal healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Gain hands-on clinical experience under the supervision of a veterinarian.
• Work closely with the supervising veterinarian to perform tasks such as gathering patient histories, conducting physical exams, creating treatment plans, performing diagnostics, dental services, assisting/supervising surgical procedures, and managing medical cases.
• Practice communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.

Requirements

Veterinary students (all class years) are encouraged to participate. Students in the clinical portion of their education may be eligible for a travel/living expense stipend of $1,500 at Paris Hill Cat Hospital.
