Veterinary Extern - General Practice

About the role

Kernersville Veterinary Hospital is a walk-in clinic that offers a mix of urgent care and wellness appointments. Students will gain exposure to various veterinary experiences.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the supervising veterinarian
• Gather patient histories
• Perform physical exams
• Create treatment plans
• Diagnose and perform diagnostics
• Provide dental services
• Assist or perform surgical procedures
• Manage medical care for patients
• Practice communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients

Qualifications

Veterinary students of all class years are welcome to participate. Those in the clinical portion of their education may qualify for a travel/living expense stipend.
