Veterinary Extern - General Practice

About the role

You’ll have the opportunity to work up a variety of cases and assist with a wide range of surgeries, from cystotomies to enterotomies, to spays and neuters. We are a fun, fast-paced clinic dedicated to providing high-quality veterinary care to small animals.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the supervising veterinarian to gather patient histories, perform physical exams, create treatment plans, perform diagnostics, and assist with dental services.
• Observe and assist with surgical procedures under supervision.
• Support the medical team, support staff, and clients in communicating effectively.
• Gain hands-on experience in medical management of patients.

Qualifications

Externships at Value Pet Clinic-Renton are designed for 3rd and 4th-year veterinary students. Veterinary students who are in the clinical portion of their education are eligible for a travel/living expense stipend.
