Veterinary Extern - General Practice

About the role

Open to currently enrolled veterinary students, an externship experience at Northside Animal Hospital will give students the unique opportunity to understand the day-to-day operations of the practice and gain valuable hands-on clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with supervising Associate Veterinarians to gather patient histories, perform physical exams, create treatment plans, conduct diagnostics, provide dental services, observe/supervise or perform surgical procedures, and manage medical cases.
• Practice clinical skills while also honing communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.

Requirements

Students must be enrolled in a veterinary program and be in the clinical portion of their education.

Qualifications

Preference given to students who are in the clinical portion of their education.

Skills

Strong communication skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and a passion for animal care.
