Veterinary Extern - General Practice

About the role

Eastern Shore Animal Hospital offers a $3,000 Travel Stipend for Clinical-Year Externship Rotations.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the supervising veterinarian to gain experience in various aspects of veterinary care.
• Practice clinical skills such as gathering patient histories, performing physical exams, creating treatment plans, diagnostics, dentistry services, observing/assisting or performing surgical procedures, and managing medical cases.
• Develop communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.

Requirements

• Eligible veterinary students in the clinical portion of their education.
• Must be enrolled in a veterinary school.
• Must be able to commit to the duration of the externship, which ranges from two to eight weeks.

Qualifications

• Strong academic performance.
• Passing scores on required veterinary licensing exams.
