Veterinary Extern - General Practice

About the role

Ferry Farm Animal Clinic is not your average general practice as we see more difficult second opinions and emergencies. We do a lot of soft tissue surgery and c-sections. Our team provides a lot of mentoring and consults with each other on cases.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the supervising veterinarian to gain experience in gathering patient histories, performing physical exams, creation of treatment plans, diagnostics, dentistry services, observing/assisting or performing surgical procedures, and medical management of patients.
• Practice clinical skills including communication with the medical team, support staff, and clients.

Qualifications

• Eligible to be a 4th year veterinary student.
• In the clinical portion of their education.

Skills

• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
