Veterinary Extern - General Practice

About the role

Students will have the chance to gain true hands-on experience with one of our three doctors at Animal Health Care of Marlboro. Externs will receive experience with wellness exams, dentals, and routine spays and neuters.

Responsibilities

• Gain experience in gathering patient histories
• Perform physical exams
• Create treatment plans
• Diagnose and perform diagnostics
• Perform or assist with dental services
• Observe or assist with surgical procedures
• Manage medical care for patients
• Practice communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients

Qualifications

Veterinary students (regardless of class year) are encouraged to participate in NVA externships. Veterinary students in the clinical portion of their education are eligible for a travel/living expense stipend. The stipend amount for Animal Health Care of Marlboro is $1,000.
