Veterinary Extern - General Practice
About the role
An externship experience at Swan Creek Veterinary Clinic will give students the opportunity to understand the day-to-day operations and gain valuable hands-on clinical experience.
Responsibilities
- Shadow doctors and technicians
- Work up cases
- Assist in surgery
- Develop anesthesia protocols
- Ask questions to learn about daily practice life
Requirements
Veterinary students (regardless of class year) are encouraged to participate. Students in the clinical portion of their education are eligible for a travel/living expense stipend.
- Stipend amount for Swan Creek Veterinary Clinic: $1,500
Qualifications
NVA externships are open to all veterinary students.
Skills
None specifically listed, but strong observational and communication skills are beneficial.
