About the role

An externship experience at an NVA hospital will provide students with the opportunity to understand daily operations and gain hands-on clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with supervising DVMs
• Gather patient histories
• Perform physical exams
• Create treatment plans
• Diagnose and perform diagnostics
• Provide dental services
• Assist or perform surgical procedures
• Manage medical care for patients
• Practice communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients

Requirements

Open to all DVM students, regardless of class year. Eligible for a travel/living expense stipend for those in the clinical portion of their education.
