Veterinary Extern - General Practice
About the role
Northpointe Animal Hospital in Lynnwood, WA, is a well-established site providing comprehensive medical, surgical, and dental care. We are surgery/dentistry, urgent care strong. Our staff is Fear Free trained, and we are pursuing AAHA accreditation in the near future.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the supervising veterinarian to gain experience in gathering patient histories, performing physical exams, creating treatment plans, diagnostics, dentistry services, observing/assisting or performing surgical procedures, and medical management of patients.
- Practice clinical skills including communication with the medical team, support staff, and clients.
Requirements
Veterinary students who are in the clinical portion of their education are eligible for a travel/living expense stipend. The stipend amount for Northpointe Animal Hospital is $1,500.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a 3rd or 4th year veterinary program.
Skills
None specifically listed, but strong communication and clinical skills are essential.
