Veterinary Extern - General Practice

About the role

Niles Veterinary Clinic is a modern, AAHA accredited, 4 veterinarian practice that provides high quality, full-service care for dogs, cats and pocket pets. We are dedicated to providing exceptional patient care and client service. We believe that education of our doctors, staff, and clients is the key to creating individualized veterinary healthcare for our patients. We are a close group, we work hard together and have fun together. We offer staff engagement activities and all of the doctors are very close in collaboration and helping each other as cases arise.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with supervising Associate Veterinarians to gain experience in gathering patient histories, performing physical exams, creation of treatment plans, diagnostics, dentistry services, observing/assisting or performing surgical procedures, and medical management of patients.
• Practice clinical skills including but not limited to gathering patient histories, performing physical exams, creation of treatment plans, diagnostics, dentistry services, observing/assisting or performing surgical procedures, and medical management of patients.
• Practice communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.

Qualifications

• Students who are looking to become Veterinarians and in school.
• Experience in gathering patient histories, performing physical exams, creation of treatment plans, diagnostics, dentistry services, observing/assisting or performing surgical procedures, and medical management of patients.
• Ability to communicate effectively with the medical team, support staff, and clients.
