Veterinary Clinical Pathologist

About the Role

As a key member of the Companion Animal Team, you will play an integral part in helping Enovis drive the medical technology industry forward by transforming patient care and creating better patient outcomes. The role involves evaluating cytology slides, including blood films, fine-needle aspirates (FNA), fluid analysis, and urinalysis, through a virtual teleconsulting platform (CELLFIE). The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator capable of evaluating submissions and discussing cases in relation to patient history, physical exams, and clinical diagnostics. You will complete each submission with a high level of quality, efficiency, and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Work remotely and be available for clinical consults based on agreed-upon hours.
• Evaluate cytology sample submissions in a timely manner (15-30 minutes per case).
• Consult with veterinarians on cases as needed.
• Consult and review submissions with other clinical pathologists for second opinions when required.

Requirements

• Board certification in clinical pathology (American College of Veterinary Pathology).
• Direct access to the internet.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work effectively.
• Service-oriented attitude.

Goals of Teleconsulting

The teleconsulting platform aims to allow veterinarians to quickly and cost-effectively obtain consultations on:

• Blood film reads of sick animals.
• Cytology evaluation of growths, masses, or tumors.
• Fluid analysis.
• Ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspirates.
• Urinalysis.
• Histopathology (in a university setting) and similar samples.

Supervision

The Clinical Pathologist will report directly to a Companion Animal Health Veterinary Medical Director.
