Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented professional for a 6-month contract assignment. In this role, you will perform laboratory analyses on blood, tissue, and body fluid specimens to support healthcare providers in the diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of patients. The individual is responsible for producing accurate and timely test results while ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and complex laboratory testing on blood, tissue, and body fluid specimens.
- Operate, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation and automated testing systems.
- Verify the accuracy and quality of laboratory results before reporting.
- Perform quality control and quality assurance procedures in accordance with laboratory standards.
- Utilize laboratory information systems and other computer applications to retrieve patient information and document test results.
- Support laboratory operations by preparing reagents, maintaining supplies, and ensuring equipment readiness.
- Assist with specimen collection and processing as needed.
- Adhere to established laboratory policies, regulatory requirements, and infection prevention protocols.
- Follow strict safety procedures when handling infectious specimens, hazardous chemicals, and laboratory equipment.
- Collaborate with laboratory staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to support high-quality patient care.

- Ability to produce accurate laboratory results while working under time-sensitive conditions.

- Flexibility to accommodate scheduling adjustments, including off-shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call assignments as operational needs require.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience operating and troubleshooting laboratory instrumentation and assay systems.
- Previous experience in a hospital or clinical laboratory setting.
- Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS) and computerized documentation.
