Veterinary Charge Capture Technician

Responsibilities
- Leading with Your Head:
- Review patient medical records, treatment sheets, and clinical documentation to ensure accurate charge capture.
- Enter and audit charges for hospitalized and outpatient cases in EzyVet.
- Identify, correct, and resolve missed, duplicate, or inaccurate charges.
- Perform daily reconciliation of charges, deposits, payments, and discharged accounts.
- Apply charge capture policies, decision trees, and billing guidelines to assign appropriate codes.
- Conduct audits and analyze charge trends to identify operational improvement opportunities.
- Develop and maintain reporting to identify recurring errors, track estimate declines, support pricing optimization, and update ER sales templates.
- Assist with accounts receivable tasks and financial reporting as assigned.
- Leading with Your Heart:
- Provide exceptional client service in person and by phone.
- Review estimates with clients and explain financial commitments, deposits, and payment options with clarity and compassion.
- Manage sensitive billing conversations and professionally de-escalate financial concerns.
- Maintain positive and professional relationships with clients and team members.
- Collaborate respectfully with veterinarians, technicians, and CSRs to clarify treatment plans and resolve documentation gaps.
- Support hospitalized patient families with billing updates and deposit communication.
- Leading With Your Hands:
- Finalize invoices prior to discharge and ensure payments, credits, and discounts are processed accurately.
- Assist clinical teams in identifying incomplete records impacting billing accuracy.
- Help standardize and streamline charge capture and invoicing workflows across departments.
- Maintain and update ER estimate templates within EzyVet.
- Review work for accuracy and completeness prior to the end of each shift.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of customer service experience in veterinary medicine.
- Minimum of 3 years of veterinary technician experience required, emergency and/or Critical Care Experience (strongly preferred).
- Prior experience with EMR systems required; EzyVet experience a plus.

Compensation
$28-45/hr - determined upon by experience/skills
