Veterinary Technician

About the role

Okatie Veterinary Center and Hilton Head Veterinary Clinic are seeking a Full-Time Veterinary Technician to support their expanding team. The position involves working at both hospital locations, Monday through Saturday.

Responsibilities

• Treatment of patients under the supervision of veterinarians
• Assisting with routine and complex medical procedures
• Administering medications and treatments
• Performing diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures
• Handling administrative tasks such as charting and scheduling appointments
• Providing client education and support

Requirements

• Minimum 3+ years of veterinary clinical experience
• AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology or Certified Veterinary Assistant degree preferred
• Proven ability to handle and restrain animals safely
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Experience with anesthesia monitoring and surgical care
• Laboratory skills including IV catheter placement, blood draws, and sample preparation
• Basic knowledge of common medications, vaccinations, and preventative care

Qualifications

• Current certification as a Veterinary Technician
• Valid South Carolina Veterinary Technician license
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Proficiency with veterinary software and equipment
• Effective problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Pay

$19 – $25 per hour, depending on experience, education, certifications, licensure, and location.

Schedule

Full-time, 4/10-hour shifts, Monday-Saturday.
