Veterinary Assistant ER/ICU

About the role

VCA All Pet Emergency Center is hiring a full-time experienced Veterinary Assistant with a passion for emergency medicine to join their team. They provide after-hours emergency and critical care services in Evansville, IN, open weekday nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain a positive, low-stress atmosphere for patients and clients
• Client education and communication
• Patient triage
• Venipuncture
• Catheter placement
• Radiology
• Physical examinations and patient assessment
• Assisting with surgery and anesthesia
• Laboratory work
• Pharmacy
• Patient recovery
• Compassionate patient care

Requirements

Full-time, Wed - Fri 6pm - midnight, Saturday 12pm - 10pm, Sunday 10am - 8pm.

Qualifications

• Experience in emergency veterinary medicine
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Basic knowledge of veterinary procedures and equipment

• Basic computer skills
