About the role
VCA Palm Beach Veterinary Specialists is seeking an experienced overnight Veterinary Assistant to join their 24-hour Emergency & Critical Care service. Ideal candidates will have solid technical skills, a strong focus on patient care, and genuine compassion for animals.
Responsibilities
- Compassionate patient care
- Patient assessment and triage
- Client education and care
- Hospitalization/ICU care
- Anesthesia induction and monitoring
- Surgical preparation and assisting
- Radiology
- Laboratory sample collection and diagnostic testing
- Venipuncture, catheterization
- Pharmacy
- Medical record keeping
Requirements
- Experience as a Veterinary Technician/CVT
- Strong technical skills
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Genuine compassion for animals
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current certification as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT)
- Knowledge of animal anatomy and physiology
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
