Veterinarian Surgeon

About the role

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama is seeking a full-time board-certified or residency-trained Surgeon to join our state-of-the-art, emergency and specialty pet hospital. Our ideal candidate would be a team player with an interest in helping to grow the Surgery service in the Birmingham hospital. We have a very collaborative, open working environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with other specialists to provide comprehensive care for pets
• Perform surgeries and other specialized procedures
• Contribute to the growth and development of the Surgery service
• Participate in case rounds and consultations
• Provide mentorship to less experienced surgeons

Requirements

• Board certification or completion of a residency program in surgery
• Experience in emergency and specialty veterinary practice
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Current AVMA accreditation

Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree
• License to practice veterinary medicine in Alabama
• Passing scores on the AVMA accredited surgical boards

Company Location

We are located within a few miles of downtown Birmingham, near the Galleria in Hoover, AL. We plan to provide multiple specialty services in the new hospital and currently offer Internal Medicine and Ophthalmology. Once the new hospital is complete it will be open 24/7 to provide Emergency Services.
