About the role
Portland Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Care in Portland, Maine is seeking a residency-trained or board-certified Veterinary Criticalist to join our dynamic team.
Responsibilities
- Employ expertise in emergency and critical care to provide top-notch medical care to patients in their most vulnerable moments.
- Utilize cutting-edge technologies and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes.
- Work with state-of-the-art equipment including color-flow ultrasounds, endoscopy, digital radiography, a full on-site laboratory, cold laser, PulseVet shockwave, PRP & stem cell therapy, CT scanner, and MRI.
- Participate in the transition into our NEW cutting-edge 42,000 sq ft hospital set to open in late 2026, shaping the future of veterinary medicine in the community.
Requirements
- Residency-trained or board-certified in Veterinary Critical Care.
- Experience in emergency and critical care.
- Strong clinical skills and ability to manage complex cases.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an AVMA accredited school.
- Current license to practice veterinary medicine in the state of Maine.
- Passing scores on the AVMA Council on Veterinary Examining Board examinations.
