We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Veterinarian to join a collaborative small-animal veterinary team in Staten Island, NY. This is an excellent opportunity for a veterinarian who enjoys general practice and is comfortable evaluating urgent-care cases and managing hospitalized patients when needed.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive physical examinations and diagnose medical conditions in dogs and cats.
- Provide preventive and wellness care for patients ranging from puppies and kittens to senior pets.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for acute and chronic conditions.
- Perform and manage routine soft-tissue surgical procedures.
- Provide dental care and other appropriate veterinary procedures.
- Evaluate and treat urgent-care cases as needed.
- Monitor and manage hospitalized patients and provide appropriate follow-up care.
- Conduct and interpret laboratory testing and diagnostic imaging.
- Utilize diagnostic tools including digital radiography, ultrasound, and in-house laboratory equipment.
- Communicate diagnoses, treatment recommendations, and follow-up plans clearly with pet owners.
- Mentor less-experienced veterinarians when appropriate.
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or Veterinary Medical Doctor (VMD) degree from an accredited institution.
- Active New York veterinary license or eligibility for licensure in New York.
- Minimum 2 years of veterinary experience preferred.
- Strong foundation in small-animal general practice.
- Experience with or confidence in routine veterinary procedures and surgery.
- Ability to evaluate urgent-care cases and manage hospitalized patients.
- Strong knowledge of veterinary medicine, diagnostics, pharmacology, and patient care.
New graduates may be considered, although experienced small-animal veterinarians are preferred.
