We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Veterinarian to join a collaborative small-animal veterinary team in Staten Island, NY. This is an excellent opportunity for a veterinarian who enjoys general practice and is comfortable evaluating urgent-care cases and managing hospitalized patients when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive physical examinations and diagnose medical conditions in dogs and cats.
  • Provide preventive and wellness care for patients ranging from puppies and kittens to senior pets.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for acute and chronic conditions.
  • Perform and manage routine soft-tissue surgical procedures.
  • Provide dental care and other appropriate veterinary procedures.
  • Evaluate and treat urgent-care cases as needed.
  • Monitor and manage hospitalized patients and provide appropriate follow-up care.
  • Conduct and interpret laboratory testing and diagnostic imaging.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools including digital radiography, ultrasound, and in-house laboratory equipment.
  • Communicate diagnoses, treatment recommendations, and follow-up plans clearly with pet owners.
  • Mentor less-experienced veterinarians when appropriate.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or Veterinary Medical Doctor (VMD) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Active New York veterinary license or eligibility for licensure in New York.
  • Minimum 2 years of veterinary experience preferred.
  • Strong foundation in small-animal general practice.
  • Experience with or confidence in routine veterinary procedures and surgery.
  • Ability to evaluate urgent-care cases and manage hospitalized patients.
  • Strong knowledge of veterinary medicine, diagnostics, pharmacology, and patient care.

New graduates may be considered, although experienced small-animal veterinarians are preferred.

Schedule

4-5 days per week | Approximately 35-40 hours per week
