About the role
Act as the primary point of contact for veteran and military students, serve as the VA Certifying Official for Maryville University, and coordinate specific projects. Develop solutions for Veterans Services, certify veteran educational benefits, and monitor project progress and system issues through resolution.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary contact for all veterans and active-duty military students.
- Act as the Certifying Official for veterans utilizing VA educational benefits, managing systems and tracking student progression in Ellucian Colleague.
- Educate veterans and active-duty military students about their VA benefits, both educational and non-educational.
- Facilitate a veteran/military student community and engagement using the Salesforce CRM database.
- Manage and reconcile all military benefit payments on student accounts and handle debt management for students receiving VA benefits.
- Recruit and supervise VA work-study student(s).
- Assist the Registration and Graduation Operations team during peak times.
- Support students from all populations via phone, email, and live chat for inquiries related to the Strategic Enrollment Management Division.
- Complete special projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Strong competencies in integrated software systems, Windows applications, file management, document imaging, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to learn new systems quickly with excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and communication skills; ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to multi-task and work in an open office or virtual environment.
- Capability to handle complex responsibilities and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment and adapt to changing needs.
- Strong sense of initiative; self-starter with the ability to meet strict deadlines.
- Analytical and mathematical skills for reporting student data and calculating tuition and fees.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or 2 years of experience in the Office of the Registrar/Academic Records.
- 2 or more years of experience in VA Services or military experience, with knowledge of VA programs and educational benefits.
- Experience with VA educational benefits resources and systems, including Ellucian Colleague and/or Salesforce CRM.
- High comfort level with technology and integrated system-process thinking.
