About the role

The Veteran Outreach Manager will manage and execute initiatives to source, recruit, and support transitioning service members, veterans, and military spouses, with the primary objective of creating and managing sustainable talent pipelines. This role will serve as a key point of contact for military transition programs, including DoD SkillBridge, and will coordinate efforts at military job fairs and career events.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key point of contact for military transition programs, including DoD SkillBridge, and coordinate efforts at military job fairs and career events.
  • Represent the company at military job fairs, transition summits, and career expos across the US Region.
  • Coordinate logistics and staffing for recruiting events targeting military talent.
  • Analyze military hiring data, veteran retention trends, and program outcomes to identify skills gaps and future talent needs, utilizing insights to inform program development and drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure all military and veteran talent programs, particularly the DoD SkillBridge Program, comply with all applicable Department of Defense guidelines and veteran employment laws and regulations in North America.
  • Develop internal processes for onboarding SkillBridge candidates and tracking their progress.
  • Represent the company at military base offices which support the transition of military members to civilian employment.
  • Build partnerships with military installations and veteran organizations to build robust career pathways for service members that support critical roles, including technical, skilled trades, and leadership positions.
  • Oversee the lifecycle of military and veteran-focused programs (including SkillBridge, mentorship, and veteran internship programs) from concept development to execution and performance review.
  • Lead the identification and development of Military Outreach initiatives in new regions and sites, including the establishment of new military base partnerships and talent pipeline strategies.
  • Work with the Director of WFD to design and lead the implementation of military and veteran talent strategies to enable regional growth, grow service member and veteran talent pipelines, and drive alignment with business objectives and long-term workforce planning needs.
  • Partner with the HR and Business leaders across North America to advise on best practices for military and veteran talent acquisition and retention, ensuring programs align with regional needs.
  • Create and manage military talent pipelines at all levels-from SkillBridge internships and entry-level roles through to experienced professionals and leadership positions.
  • Develop and expand military talent and transition programs (e.g., DoD SkillBridge) and partnerships across U.S. sites, focusing on building robust career pathways for service members that support critical roles, including technical, skilled trades, and leadership positions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Management or related degree or combination of education and appropriate military experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in military engagement, or veteran affairs.
  • Experience in Aerospace preferred.

Pay

Competitive base salary, incentive compensation which may include profit sharing schemes, retirement savings plan and the ability to participate in an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (“ESOP”).

Schedule

Onsite 80%, Remote 20%

Physical Requirements

  • Daily able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings.
  • Daily able to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on production floor including safety warnings or alarms.
  • Daily able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications.
  • Daily able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts.
  • Several times a week able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
  • Several times a week able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
  • Several times a week able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools.
  • Daily able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer.
  • Several times a month able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving.
  • Daily able to stand for discussions in offices or on production floor.
  • Rarely able to travel independently and at short notice.
  • Daily able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces.
