Vet Tech Internship

About the role

Join Portland Vet Stroudwater and help build a brand‑new general practice clinic from day one. We are seeking a licensed or credentialed veterinary technician (LVT/CVT/RVT) to deliver exceptional patient and client care in a collaborative, expanding environment. Our mission is to improve the lives of pets, their families, and the community by providing compassionate, high‑quality general practice care.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with routine general practice procedures, including exams, diagnostics, anesthesia monitoring, lab work, venipuncture, and catheter placement.
• Assist veterinarians with routine general practice surgeries such as spay/neuter and mass removals.
• Help manage patient flow and appointment coordination in a fast‑paced setting.
• Utilize on‑site diagnostic equipment (CBC, chemistries, cytologies, digital radiography, ultrasound) as needed.

Requirements

• Licensed or credentialed veterinary technician (LVT, CVT, RVT); very experienced veterinary assistants may also be considered.
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in small‑animal practice, including surgery.
• Comfortable using practice management software and diagnostic equipment.

Pay

Hourly rate $24 – $32, based on experience and licensure, plus a sign‑on bonus up to $5,000.

Schedule

Full‑time, flexible 4‑day week. Set schedule: Monday – Thursday, 7:30 am – 6:00 pm (effective September 2026). No weekends or major holidays.
