Vendor Relations Clerk
About the role
The Vendor Relations Clerk is responsible for establishing a cooperative relationship with vendors and monitoring the status of that relationship. This position encourages vendors to utilize electronic data interchange (EDI) and EFT services and facilitates vendor and company communication in a manner that contributes to client satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Establishes and monitors Cass’s relationship with assigned vendors.
- Educates vendors on Cass products and services by initiating phone calls, resulting in a cooperative relationship with the vendor’s management team.
- Educates and encourages vendors to utilize EDI billing and EFT remittance services where bill volume warrants.
- Facilitates the process to convert check vendors to EFT.
- Maintains and updates the vendor database with accurate contact information.
- Keeps leadership informed of changes in the relationship with assigned vendors.
- Works with internal departments to eliminate potential concerns that may adversely affect the relationship between Cass and clients.
- Works overtime as required by leadership to ensure completion of time-sensitive tasks.
- Performs other duties as needed or assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1 year of experience in customer relations in a processing service environment or equivalent experience.
Skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks at one time.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a goal-oriented environment.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, maintain a positive attitude, and be self-motivated.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills to maximize vendor responsiveness and develop a cooperative working relationship.
