About the role
This is an onsite position in Hillard, OH (43026) with a schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The Vehicle Sales Representative (VSR) serves as the frontline Sales Agent for Ryder’s Vehicle Sales, collaborating with Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Asset Management teams to meet sales projections, maximize proceeds, and deliver high-level customer service. The role offers comprehensive training, professional development, and the stability of a Fortune 500 company with over 85 years in business and 36,000 employees worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Sales and Marketing:
- Act as the frontline Sales Representative for Vehicle Sales, engaging customers in person, online, and via phone.
- Execute the UTC’s marketing plan, including product selection for periodicals, trade associations, and industry-specific campaigns.
- Coordinate outbound marketing efforts such as phone calls, mailers, and thank-you cards.
- Serve as a liaison between Asset Management, Rental, and Lease product lines.
- Maintain the accuracy and content of the Lead Tracker database to measure marketing effectiveness.
- Monitor the used vehicle market and local competitors.
- Cover for the Vehicle Sales Manager (VSM) at their location or other locations as needed.
- Structure and sell ancillary products (Finance and Extended Warranty) to meet customer needs and Ryder’s expectations.
- Develop and expand relationships with existing customers to ensure retention and exceed expectations.
- Inventory Management:
- Manage the effectiveness of the UTC website for content and data accuracy, providing feedback for development.
- Account for all vehicle inventory movement within the UTC’s area of operations, including offsite and satellite locations.
- Maintain key tracking systems for inventory management and vehicle security.
- Ensure vehicle quality and appearance through washing, detailing, and a vehicle exercise program.
- Perform weekly yard checks with required documentation from off-site locations.
- Occasionally drive trucks within UTC boundaries to align inventory.
- Administrative:
- Manage unit files and sales recording systems, including titling, licensing, and legal sale documents.
- Ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley, Safety STAR Program, and other company initiatives.
- Maintain a cash log, collect funds accurately and timely, and manage UTC supply inventory.
- Ensure vehicle sales compliance with local, state, federal, and other regulating agencies.
- Additional Responsibilities:
- Increase location sales by assisting with all aspects of the sales process.
- Maximize proceeds for vehicles sold by improving retail activity.
- Provide sales support to the VSM to maximize sale time.
- Enhance the sales process to maximize customer retention and reach new customers.
- Ensure Sarbanes Oxley compliance in all required areas.
- Maintain a neat and orderly work environment to maximize productivity.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED (required).
- One (1) to three (3) or more years of experience in sales and/or customer service (required).
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel, and advanced internet use (required).
- Ability to travel as needed.

Pay
Hourly pay range: $20.00 – $25.00. The position may also be eligible for an annual bonus, commission, and/or long-term incentive plan based on level and/or type.
