Vehicle Inspect/Service Technician

About the role

Become part of the Koorsen team, a leader in the fire and security industry. We seek a Vehicle Suppression Technician to join our dynamic team in the Rockford, Springfield, or Bloomington, IL area. The ideal candidate will be available to travel up to 5 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and service fire suppression systems on heavy equipment/machinery
• Represent Koorsen professionally and positively
• Communicate effectively with Koorsen staff and customers
• Follow safety rules and good driving habits
• Continue communication and cooperation with Koorsen staff
• Manage inventory and tools for each job
• Complete and process required paperwork in a timely manner
• Perform basic vehicle maintenance and keep the work truck clean and organized
• Manage installation job sites efficiently and safely
• Manage equipment dealers when necessary
• Complete product certifications
• Follow Koorsen policies, procedures, and core values
• Ensure timely and professional communication with coworkers, customers, and vendors
• Be self-motivated

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Mechanical aptitude and background
• Valid Driver's License, in good standing
• Safe driving policy criteria
• Pass drug and background screenings
• Pass evidence of substance abuse test
• Regular and punctual attendance
• Strong organizational skills
• Able to access and tolerate small crawl spaces
• Able to access all areas of the route vehicle
• Willingness to travel significant distances and at least 75% of the time
• Self-motivated
• Ability to carry, lift, push, and pull a minimum of 75 pounds
• Safe climbing and reaching heights of at least 12 ft
• Constant talking and hearing, frequent standing, walking, sitting, repetitive motions, and eye/hand/foot coordination
• Occasional lifting, carrying, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and grasping
• Exposure to hot/cold/moisture and noise and hazards occasionally
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite: Outlook, Word, Excel

Skills and Abilities

Pay

SALARY UP TO $25/HOUR DEPENDING UPON EXPERIENCE
