Become part of the Koorsen team, a leader in the fire and security industry. We are seeking a Vehicle Suppression Technician in the Bloomington, IN area to support our mission of excellence.
Responsibilities
- Inspect and service fire suppression systems on heavy equipment/machinery
- Represent Koorsen professionally and positively
- Communicate effectively with Koorsen staff and customers
- Follow safety rules and good driving habits
- Utilize resources to complete jobs promptly
- Manage inventory and tools for each job
- Manage installation job sites efficiently and safely
- Complete product certifications
- Follow Koorsen policies and procedures
- Ensure timely and professional communication with coworkers, customers, and vendors
- Professionally represent Koorsen
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Mechanical aptitude and background
- Valid Driver's License, in good standing
- Safe driving policy criteria
- Pass drug and background screenings
- Pass a urine test for evidence of substance abuse
- Heavy equipment background preferred
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems
- Experience in mining or agricultural or diesel equipment is a plus
Skills and Abilities
- Regular and punctual attendance
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to access and tolerate small crawl spaces
- Ability to access all areas of the route vehicle, including loading & unloading materials
- Frequent overnight travel involved
- Willingness to travel significant distances and at least 75% of the time
- Self-motivation
Physical Requirements and Exposures
- Able to carry, lift, push, and pull a minimum of 75 pounds
- Able to safely climb a ladder and reach a height of at least 12 ft.
- Constant (5-8hrs/shift) talking and hearing
- Frequent (2-5hrs/shift) standing, walking, sitting, repetitive motions, and eye/hand/foot coordination
- Occasional (up to 2hrs/shift) lifting, carrying, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and grasping
- Exposure to hot/cold/moisture and noise and hazards occasionally (up to 2 hours/shift)
Hiring Process
- New hires must complete the I-9 Verification form within 3 days of hire
- All positions require background checks with criminal courts, state and county repositories of criminal records, and the Department of Motor Vehicles
- A urine test for evidence of substance abuse is required if this application results in an offer of employment
