About the role
GDIT is seeking a VDI Engineer to support Government activities in Sterling, VA or Annapolis Junction, MD. This role requires an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
Responsibilities
- Engineer new and improved enhancements for existing and emerging virtual desktop technologies
- Design and support Microsoft infrastructure solutions, including Azure Virtual Desktop, on-prem, cloud and hybrid
- Interact with Government stakeholders regarding technical considerations for problems, issues, or conflicts
- Perform engineering work associated with the design, development, maintenance, and testing of infrastructure for desktop application packaging and deployment technologies
- Manage Citrix products (Virtual Apps, Virtual Desktops, ADC, Provisioning)
- Manage Azure products (Azure Virtual Desktops)
- Operate and execute scripting skills in PowerShell or Python
- Provide Tier 3 and above support as needed (troubleshooting, problem resolution support, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA))
- Prepare and maintain documentation for VDI solutions, processes, and procedures related to engineering projects
Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI with polygraph clearance
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II requirements including one of the following certifications: Security+ CE, CND, SSCP, GSEC, GICSP, CySA+, or CCNA Security
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certification or training, or work/military experience
- Minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience
- Hands-on experience with SQL Clustering Failover
- Knowledge of cloud, networking, and enterprise architectures
- Expertise in the Windows 10/11 – Standard Operating Environment (SOE), imaging, evergreen, etc.
- Experience with Remote Desktop Service (RDS) on Windows Server 2019/2022
- Experience deploying Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) on Windows Server 2019/2022
Preferred Certification(s)
- Managing Modern Desktops (MD-101)
- CWS-215: Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops 7 Administration On-Premises and in Citrix Cloud
- Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (1Y0-312)
- Maintaining Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop

Pay
The likely salary range for this position is $144,500 - $195,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
