VDC Group Manager

Responsibilities And Duties

• Create and maintain detailed mechanical system models using Revit and Fabrication CADmep.
• Manage ITM and RFA content, ensuring accuracy and alignment with company standards.
• Collaborate with the BIM team to maintain and support the fabrication database.
• Attend and participate in BIM coordination meetings to resolve clashes and ensure models reflect coordinated designs.
• Work closely with other BIM team members to ensure model quality, schedule alignment, and project readiness.
• Provide technical support and training to team members on BIM tools, workflows, and content standards.
• Liaise with Field Leadership, Fabrication, and Operations to align digital design with real-world execution.
• Conduct constructability reviews and ensure compliance with project standards and installation best practices.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and content standardization.
• Contribute to project planning and coordination by advising on model-based approaches and preconstruction workflows.
• Serve as a collaborative partner to support team cohesion and peer development.

Qualifications And Experience

• Minimum 5 years of VDC experience with hands-on work in Revit and Fabrication tools.
• Strong mechanical background, preferably in HVAC and/or plumbing systems.
• Experience with constructability, layout planning, and system routing.
• Familiarity with applicable codes and standards (IPC, SMACNA, ASME, etc.).
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
• Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
• Positive, flexible, and team-oriented mindset.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Technical Platform Knowledge

• Autodesk Revit
• Autodesk Navisworks
• CAMduct and/or Fabrication CADmep
• Bluebeam ACC (Autodesk Construction Cloud)
• Familiarity with fabrication profile setup, costing, and labor tables.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Stratus.
• Field experience in HVAC systems and/or plumbing.
• Master's license in one or more trades (HVAC mechanical and/or plumbing).
• Proficiency with Excel.
• Dynamo for basic coding experience for tool automation in Revit.
