Vault Supervisor

About the Role

The Vault Supervisor oversees the day-to-day operations of the vault, aligning with Empyreal's goals, customer expectations, and regulatory requirements. This position emphasizes both the outcomes and the processes used to achieve them. The role is based at a cash processing center in the Rancho Cucamonga area, not a branch office.

Responsibilities

• Communicates positively in a team-oriented environment through various means, including in person, by phone, in writing, and electronically.
• Provides effective day-to-day supervision of teller personnel.
• Supervises the processing of all incoming and outgoing currency.
• Schedules employees, determines priorities, assigns work, controls workflow, and resolves problems and bottlenecks.
• Ensures Federal Reserve Deposits are prepared to standard with correct documentation.
• Supervises daily balancing of vaults and maintains set cash limits.
• Oversees each teller's daily reconciliation.
• Monitors teller staff, provides feedback, and offers guidance.
• Assists staff with locating cash discrepancies and handling complex tasks.
• Investigates, reports, and resolves variances and operating issues, notifying appropriate managers.
• Ensures the team operates efficiently and produces high-quality work.
• Reviews timecards and addresses attendance issues directly with employees.
• Assists with the development and implementation of processes and procedures.
• Ensures staff adheres to all policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and security protocols.
• Trains, cross-trains, and develops employees.
• Addresses performance, personnel, and personal conduct issues, including coaching and disciplining employees as needed.
• Evaluates staff performance and conducts performance reviews.
• Makes recommendations regarding employee status changes.
• Maintains vault records and completes audits and reports.
• Travels as requested for setting up new locations, employee training, filling in for others, and performing other assignments.
• Models and supports the company's vision, values, and desired culture.
• Fills in for tellers and other personnel as needed.
• Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• Stamina to work 50 to 55 hours per week as needed.
• Knowledge of or ability to use bank software and systems.
• College education or military experience is desirable.
• Exceptional problem-solving and management skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a positive attitude as a team member.
• Strong observation skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent recall and retention of information.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
• Ability to work under pressure dictated by event schedules and project timetables.
