Van Driver PACE

Job Summary

Family Health Centers of San Diego (FHCSD) is a leading community health center providing comprehensive healthcare services to uninsured and underinsured individuals. As part of our mission to serve everyone, we are seeking a reliable and experienced individual to drive our mobile van to various locations.

Responsibilities

• Drive the mobile van safely and efficiently to various locations across San Diego County.
• Register, secure, and transport participants and/or items to and from designated locations.
• Conduct daily safety inspections of the mobile van, including checking brakes, headlamps, taillights, and reporting any mechanical issues.
• Maintain the cleanliness and operational readiness of the mobile van, ensuring routine maintenance and fueling.
• Complete all required documentation accurately and in a timely manner, including updating vehicle logs and entering patient data into Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
• Ensure compliance with all relevant state, federal, and local regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience required.
• Current American Heart Association Heartsaver CPR AED Certification required within 90 days of employment.
• Active California driver's license for the class required for operation of assigned vehicle.
• Age 21; at least 3 years of driving experience; no violations or accidents within 3 years; no vehicle-related suspensions or reinstatements; no DUI, reckless driving, or felony driving within 7 years.
• 1-year related experience preferred.
• Safe and good driving skills.
• Knowledge of the San Diego area and surrounding communities.
• Intermediate interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse staff and clients.

Qualifications

• Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
• Intermediate interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Must be able to communicate with and relate to a diverse staff and clients in a courteous and professional manner.
• Ability to maintain vehicle records and perform routine checks on a motor vehicle.
