Located in scenic Honesdale, PA, the Wayne County Transportation Department seeks a dependable, compassionate driver to provide essential door-to-door transportation for county residents. This rewarding role helps seniors and other community members get to important appointments, services, and daily activities while providing friendly, reliable support.
Responsibilities
- Transportation Services: Provide safe, reliable travel for senior adults and wheelchair-dependent individuals in accordance with policies
- Pasenger Assistance: Help riders board, exit, and move across uneven pathways while maintaining safety, dignity, and comfort
- Communication: Maintain clear interaction with consumers, dispatch, and agency staff through conversation and radio communication
- Technology Use: Use tablets and approved tools to access schedules, record transportation activities, and complete required program documentation
- Professional Conduct: Demonstrate patience, strong communication, and professionalism while working independently
Qualifications
- Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year of employment which required operation of a motor vehicle as a regular duty; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training
- Special Requirement: Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license
- Condition of Employment: No suspension of driver’s license within the last three years
- Other Requirements: Meet the PA residency requirement

Schedule
Part-time employment
Work hours: Transportation operates 4:00AM to 9:00PM, Monday through Friday with limited hours on Saturday.
Telework: Not available in this position.
