About the role

The Wayne County Transportation Department in Honesdale, PA is seeking dependable, compassionate drivers to provide door-to-door transportation for county residents, including helping seniors access essential services and appointments.

Description of Work

• Vehicle Operation: Operate assigned vehicles safely for scheduled consumer transport
• Door-to-Door Service: Assist consumers entering, exiting, and moving between locations while carrying needed packages
• Communication Tools: Use radios, tablets, or phones to coordinate with office staff and follow scheduled routes
• Vehicle Care: Complete pre-trip checks and clean vehicle interiors daily
• Professional Conduct: Maintain respectful relationships with consumers, office staff, and other drivers
• Confidentiality Standards: Protect personal and medical information during all interactions

Work Schedule and Additional Information

• Part-time employment (14 to 21+ hours per week)
• Transportation operates 4:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Monday through Friday and limited hours on Saturdays
• No telework option

Qualifications

• Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year of employment which required operation of a motor vehicle as a regular duty; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Special Requirement: This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license.
• Condition of Employment: No suspension of driver’s license within the last three years.
• Other Requirements: You must meet the PA residency requirement.
