About the role
The Wayne County Transportation Department in Honesdale, PA is seeking dependable, compassionate drivers to provide door-to-door transportation for county residents, including helping seniors access essential services and appointments.
Description of Work
- Safe Transportation: Drive county vehicles an average of 150 miles each day while ensuring passenger comfort.
- Consumer Assistance: Help senior adults and wheelchair dependent persons with boarding and exiting in various conditions.
- Communication Skills: Communicate clearly with consumers and staff through person to person interaction and two way radio.
- Schedule Adaptation: Adjust to daily route changes and maintain flexibility in service needs.
- Social Support: Provide friendly interaction and positive social contact throughout the day.
Qualifications
- Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year of employment which required operation of a motor vehicle as a regular duty; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Special Requirement: Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license.
- Condition of Employment: No suspension of driver’s license within the last three years.
- Other Requirements: Meet the PA residency requirement.

Schedule
Part-time employment, 14-21+ hours per week. Transportation operates 4 AM to 9 PM, Monday through Friday and limited hours on Saturdays. Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
