Valve Repair Trainee position focused on learning and assisting with the inspection, disassembly, cleaning, repair, reassembly, and testing of industrial valves and related equipment. Ideal for mechanically inclined individuals eager to develop technical skills in both shop and field service environments. Requires occasional travel to customer sites, with field service assignments lasting up to one or two weeks.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and testing of industrial valves and related equipment.
- Disassemble, clean, inspect, evaluate, and reassemble valves according to company procedures and manufacturer specifications.
- Learn to identify worn, damaged, or out-of-specification components and recommend corrective actions.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and testing equipment safely and effectively.
- Maintain accurate repair records and complete required documentation.
- Support shop operations, including housekeeping, equipment maintenance, and inventory management.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and quality standards.
- Participate in training programs to develop technical knowledge and repair skills.
- Travel to customer facilities as needed to support field service projects, including assignments that may last up to one or two weeks.
- Assist with field service inspections, repairs, and installations.
- Communicate professionally with customers, supervisors, and team members.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and follow technical instructions, drawings, and work procedures.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency with common software applications.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to learn new skills and work in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability and willingness to travel occasionally for field service assignments, which may require being away from home for up to one or two weeks at a time.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain an acceptable driving record.
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
- Must be willing and able to complete all required safety training and maintain applicable certifications.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work in various shop and field environments.
- Ability to use hand tools and equipment safely.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous mechanical, maintenance, automotive, machining, or industrial experience.
- Basic understanding of valves, pumps, regulators, or rotating equipment.
- Familiarity with measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
