About the role
Guardian’s Digital and Technology (D&T) organization is transforming to drive business growth and strategy. As a Value Stream Coach, you will guide teams to optimize workflows for maximum value delivery.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate Value Stream Events: Lead and facilitate key events such as PI Planning and Value Stream Syncs.
- Drive Continuous Exploration: Refine backlogs and ensure readiness for PI Planning.
- Align Teams: Ensure alignment and transparency across teams and stakeholders.
- Coach Teams and Leaders: Guide teams and leaders to deliver end-to-end value with a focus on customer outcomes.
- Provide Guidance: Coach on business process improvements and product-platform principles.
- Champion OKRs: Align team efforts with value stream goals and measure performance.
- Play a Critical Role: Facilitate dependency management and stakeholder engagement within and across value streams.
- Contribute to the Center of Excellence: Mentor Value Stream Team Coaches and promote modern software development practices.
Requirements
- 8–10 years of experience in roles such as Scrum Master, Release Train Engineer, or Agile Coach.
- Expertise with product platform models and Value Stream.
- Deep understanding of Agile methodologies, lean principles, and their application at scale.
- Ability to identify and help teams overcome impediments to flow and progress.
- Proficiency in using data and metrics to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven track record of driving exceptional results through coaching teams and leaders.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of business, the software development lifecycle, and technology deliverables.
- Location: Three days a week at a Guardian office in New York, NY, Holmdel, NJ, or Bethlehem, PA.
