Key Responsibilities
- Lead quarterly fair value valuations across a diverse portfolio, including venture-backed companies, publicly traded securities, and digital assets.
- Build and maintain complex financial models (DCF, Comp Analysis, Precedent Transactions, and OPM/PWERM) in compliance with ASC 820 standards.
- Cook up coordination with external auditors to manage the valuation audit support process.
- Analyze portfolio company cap tables, liquidation preferences, and articles of incorporation to determine fair value.
- Apply specialized valuation methodologies for tokens and digital assets in both public and private markets.
- Monitor market dynamics for liquid digital asset holdings and evaluate private token investments using network-based and income-approach models.
- Act as a primary finance contact for portfolio founders, assisting with operational needs and strategic financial tracking.
- Design and manage a systematic quarterly data collection process to track qualitative and quantitative KPIs.
- Develop internal dashboards and reporting tools to synthesize portfolio data for investment professionals and LPs.
- Assist with quarter-end close processes, including NAV calculations and expense accruals.
- Support the preparation of quarterly and annual LP reports and fund-level financial statements.
Job Requirements
- Experience: 4–8 years of valuation experience at a Big 4 firm, national audit firm, or dedicated valuation consultancy.
- Technical Proficiency: Proven ability to build financial models from scratch and a deep understanding of ASC 820.
- Asset Expertise: Familiarity with complex financial instruments (Equity, Debt, Derivatives) and exposure to the digital asset ecosystem (SAFEs, SAFTs, Token Warrants, etc.).
- Communication: Exceptional ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights for founders and investment partners.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in Venture Capital or Growth Equity.
- Familiarity with portfolio accounting (NAV) or fund-level tracking.
- Interest in DeFi protocols, blockchain-native businesses, or tokenized assets.
