About the role
The Trustworthy Personalization Research team within Google Identity and Engagement helps users enjoy more helpful personalized experiences across products by strengthening their Google Identity. Our work focuses on precisely meeting users' lifelong needs, connecting multiple accounts where appropriate, and forming a holistic user identity.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners, including UX Design, Product Management, Analytics, and Engineering, to identify and prioritize topics for research.
- Identify impactful research opportunities independently and motivate stakeholder buy-in.
- Collect and analyze user behavior through qualitative and quantitative methods, such as lab studies, interviews, surveys, and field studies.
- Convert research findings to audiences through reports and presentations.
- Work on a range of research problems related to personalization, compliance, and user accounts, either independently or in collaboration with other researchers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 6 years of experience in an applied research setting (e.g., product or academic), or similar.
- Experience in qualitative research and mixed methods research methodologies.
- Experience communicating research and concepts to cross-functional audiences.
Preferred qualifications
- Master's degree or PhD in Human-Centered Design/HCI, Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, Experimental Psychology, Computer Science, or other field emphasizing human behavior, research or related program.
- Experience designing and leading robust research projects collaboratively with cross-functional stakeholders to elicit product questions and inform research roadmaps.
- Experience designing presentations and a variety of deliverables based on research findings and insights, such as personas or user journeys.
- Experience communicating complex concepts clearly and persuasively to different audiences and organizational levels.
- Familiarity with a range of methodologies including, but not limited to, one-on-one interviews, diary studies and surveys.
Benefits
Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. US: $159,000 - $231,000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits
