Ux Engineer
About the role
The Infotainment UX Engineer designs and refines in-vehicle infotainment solutions, features, and interfaces that are intuitive, visually engaging, and aligned with customer needs. This role leverages user-centered research and competitive benchmarking to create high-quality infotainment experiences that enhance usability, safety, and satisfaction. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to translate insights into interactive prototypes and production-ready designs that keep products competitive in a fast-evolving market.
Responsibilities
- Conduct user-centered research in educational or professional settings to understand user behaviors, needs, and pain points related to infotainment systems.
- Utilize existing research and data to define and refine infotainment features, interaction patterns, and visual design concepts.
- Perform product benchmarking to evaluate competitor infotainment solutions and identify opportunities for differentiation and improvement.
- Create GUI prototypes using tools such as Figma, Protopie, Axure, and Kanzi to explore, communicate, and validate design concepts.
- Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to align infotainment UX solutions with product requirements and strategic objectives.
- Prepare clear, visually compelling presentation documents that communicate research findings, design rationale, and proposed solutions.
- Participate in design reviews and workshops to gather feedback, iterate on concepts, and ensure a cohesive user experience across the infotainment ecosystem.
- Apply critical and innovative thinking to solve complex UX challenges and propose creative, user-focused solutions.
- Contribute to a culture of teamwork by valuing relationships, sharing knowledge, and supporting collaborative problem-solving.
- Demonstrate results orientation by managing priorities, meeting deadlines, and delivering high-quality UX outputs.

Essential Skills
- Experience conducting user-centered research in educational and/or professional environments.
- Proficiency in GUI prototyping tools such as Figma, Protopie, Axure, and Kanzi.
- Strong design skills with a focus on user experience for digital interfaces.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to create clear and compelling presentation documents.
- Ability to perform product benchmarking and analyze competitive infotainment solutions.
- Demonstrated critical and innovative thinking in solving UX and design problems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Degree or qualification in UX or a related design discipline.
- Experience working on infotainment or automotive digital interfaces.

- Ability to foster teamwork and build strong working relationships across disciplines.
- Understanding of both technical and business considerations when designing user experiences.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $35.00 – $45.00/hr. Individual compensation offered within this range will depend on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
