Insulet’s UX team is seeking a UX Content Strategist to align teams around engaging, informative UX content for our products and customer experience. This role focuses on simplifying the lives of patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers worldwide by elevating customer-centricity in UX and inspiring action. You will drive strategic and tactical content designs with high customer impact, think like a strategist, lead as a servant, and advocate persistently for customers. Strong organization and communication skills are essential to collaborate strategically across the organization.

About the role

Join a highly engaged team directly improving the product experience for people living with diabetes. We are investing in a scalable system to support the right experience at the right time. As a Sr. UX Designer in the R&D group, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure world-class product design for Omnipod’s Mobile App Suite, leading large-scale design initiatives for Android and iOS. This role drives best-in-class UX as a senior individual contributor, collaborating with software development, technical product management, systems, and QA in an agile environment. We seek a creative thinker and positive team player with experience delivering world-class mobile user experiences to innovate and translate high-level vision into compelling digital experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Lead tactical and innovation UX initiatives within an agile environment on mobile applications (Android and iOS), collaborating with Marketing, Technical Product Marketing, and Systems teams to create a cohesive user experience.
  • Define safe, effective, and delightful user experiences for mobile using industry-standard tools such as Creative Cloud, Sketch, Zeplin, Overflow/Invision/Azure, etc.
  • Deliver UX work (wireframes, asset delivery, GUI specifications) in an agile development environment using tools like Webex, JIRA, Confluence, and Aha!.
  • Lead UX discussions with key technical integration partners (e.g., Glooko, Tidepool), understanding their requirements and APIs, and leading UX and branding discussions.
  • Work with User Research and Human Factors teams to iteratively test early concepts and apply user-centered design best practices.
  • Present design concepts and UX vision compellingly (via sketches, storyboards, prototypes, wireframes, or interactive presentations) to all levels of the company and customers.
  • Collaborate with Clinical and Human Factors teams to ensure designs are safe, effective, and compliant with FDA guidelines while maintaining a high bar for user delight.
  • Drive innovation in UX process, tools, or overall design language and experiences.
  • Define world-class user experiences and holistic customer experiences across touchpoints (OOBE, web, mobile, product, integrations, wearables, and Global Customer Experience).
  • Lead corporate UX design language development, standards, and frameworks as the brand evolves.
  • Mentor junior staff in all aspects of UX work and support their growth and development.
  • Evangelize the role of UX design across the company.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology, Computer Science, HCI, Industrial Engineering, Interaction Design, Design, Human Factors, or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in UX and product design, ideally with a focus on customer-centric products across multiple touchpoints (product, mobile, web) globally.
  • Expert knowledge of industry-standard UX/Dev tools (Invision/Balsamiq/Azure, Zeplin, Creative Cloud, Framer, Sketch, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc.).
  • Fluent in usability standards, design heuristics, and responsive design techniques.
  • Expert knowledge of Android and iOS UI guidelines and platforms.
  • Strong portfolio with storytelling and presentation skills.
  • 3+ years of experience working in an agile development environment with tools like JIRA, Confluence, Helix, or Aha!.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally, especially with clinical partners such as Human Factors.
  • Strong technical hardware and software knowledge (a plus).
  • Demonstrated success in executing mobile application UX for consumer or medical devices (preference for medical devices or consumer wearables).
  • Working knowledge of User Research tools and methodologies to drive research goals and a user-centered design approach.
  • Experience working effectively with cross-functional teams on high-visibility initiatives in a distributed environment (Boston, San Diego, Tijuana).
  • Ability to prototype when necessary (preferred).
  • Thorough knowledge of the diabetes disease state (preferred).

Schedule

This position is eligible for hybrid working arrangements and requires on-site work from an Insulet office. Ongoing US travel may be needed (at least once per quarter).

Pay

For U.S.-based positions, the annual base salary range for this role is $118,900.00 - $178,300.00. This position may also be eligible for incentive compensation.
