About the role

As a Utility Technician based in Richmond, VA, you’ll coordinate and undertake a range of maintenance activities within defined operating procedures, conduct safety inspections, and comply with Aggreko's safety regulations. You’ll provide first-level technical advice to customers and may resolve or troubleshoot implementation problems.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out basic maintenance as per work instructions in accordance with Aggreko standards.
  • Ensure that the workplace is well maintained and clean.
  • Maintain documentation, both paper and electronic, as per site specifics.
  • Adhere to 5S and QHSE procedures.
  • Work strictly in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Load and unload rental equipment and materials with large and small forklifts.
  • Prepare and verify quality/accuracy of counts of rental equipment prior to delivery.
  • Clean and put away rental equipment upon return to the service center.
  • Keep the yard and warehouse clean, organized, and up to safety standards.
  • Wash rental equipment.
  • Inspect and repair cable.

Requirements

  • High School diploma/GED or equivalent.
  • 0-3 years of experience working in a yard or warehouse.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Embrace and promote a safety culture.
  • Positive, self-starter who enjoys working with others in a fast-paced environment to deliver consistent quality.
  • Reliable and committed to delivering quality performance.
  • Able to work overtime, travel, and be on-call.
  • Ability to move or lift objects, typically less than 75 lbs.

Other Essential Job Requirements

  • Availability to work the assigned schedule, travel to work locations (if needed), and be on standby for work outside of regularly scheduled shifts.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and sit for prolonged periods of time; and be able to walk over uneven terrain with functional balance that does not require any special assistive devices.
  • Must be able to move the extremities and spine through a functional range of motion that will permit work to be safely performed from ground/floor level to full overhead level.
  • Must have good finger dexterity to manipulate small items, functional hand-eye coordination, and functionally grip with adequate strength to safely hold tools and stair railing or ladders.
  • Must be able to safely meet the physical demands outlined in the Essential Physical Capacities Assessment and pass the post-offer physical abilities assessment, which includes being able to lift (60 lbs.), push/pull (80 lbs.), carry (60 lbs.), climb stairs and ladders, as well as a combination of climbing while carrying objects (15 lbs.), stoop, kneel, and squat.
