Utility Production - Day Shift

Responsibilities

• Fills in for employees during breaks and absences, maintaining the quality of plant operations.
• Fully operates all necessary equipment in the assigned area.
• Records downtime, can loss, lot numbers, temperatures, and other required documentation.
• Ensures all areas are cleaned to standard and performs weekly sanitation.
• Participates as a team member, engaging in development, communication, and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies.
• Coordinates work to ensure B.E.S.T. practices with all team members and attends team meetings.
• Fosters team cohesiveness on major issues such as direction, annual plans, budgets, and policy changes.
• Identifies and addresses areas lacking cohesiveness, working with the team to resolve issues and achieve synergy.
• Supports Simmons Operating systems principles and objectives, maintaining familiarity with quality, security, office environment, and company policies.
• Performs other duties as necessary to support business objectives.

Physical Requirements

• Able to work in a busy, noisy, dusty environment with temperature extremes.
• Able to stand for an entire shift.
• Able to lift up to 75 pounds.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English.
• May be required to obtain and maintain a company-issued forklift license.
