Utility Plant Operator 2 - Selinsgrove Center (3rd Shift)
Description of Work
This role helps ensure the safe and steady operation of the power plant and its connected systems. It involves monitoring equipment, making adjustments, and maintaining plant functions throughout each shift. As a Utility Plant Operator 2, you will perform the following duties:
- Shift Leadership: Lead plant operations during assigned shifts and make decisions that support safe and efficient performance
- Equipment Monitoring: Observe boilers, pumps, compressors, and related systems to confirm proper temperatures, levels, and function
- Water and Chemical Testing: Take and test water samples and adjust chemical applications to maintain required standards
- Maintenance Work: Perform repairs, cleaning, painting, and preventive maintenance to keep equipment and facilities in good working order
- Record Keeping: Document water readings, chemical readings, repairs, and shift activities clearly and accurately
- Emergency Readiness: Follow all emergency procedures and plant safety rules to maintain safe and continuous steam generation
Qualifications Required
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year of experience as a Utility Plant Operator 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration ); or One year of semi-skilled work experience in the operation, maintenance, or repair of industrial, commercial, or institutional utility plant systems and related equipment; or An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes six months of semi-skilled work experience in the operation, maintenance, or repair of industrial, commercial, or institutional utility plant systems and related equipment.
Special Requirement: You must possess an active Class C motor vehicle license.
