Utility Operator 3, Night Shift (2/2/3 6pm-6am)
About the role
This Utility Operator 3 position supports our night shift. This is a 2/2/3 work schedule from 6pm-6am.
Responsibilities
- Operates various utility systems, including compressed gases, cooling towers, plant steam, chillers, boilers, HVAC, fire alarm system, and utilities tank farm.
- Maintains and troubleshoots equipment, conducts routine maintenance, and ensures compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Analyzes utility consumption data to identify areas for improvement and implement energy-saving measures.
- Performs routine inspections of utility equipment and systems to identify potential issues or maintenance requests.
- Conducts preventive maintenance on utility equipment, such as lubrication, filter replacement, and cleaning.
- Responds to equipment failures and emergencies promptly to troubleshoot issues and ensure continuous operations of utility systems.
- Monitors and operates the site’s BMS and Delta V, ensuring compliance with GMP, OSHA, and other environmental regulations.
- Manages the inventory of spare parts and equipment, provides guidance and mentors operators, and participates in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Supports site operations and emergency work orders during off-hours, as needed.
- Remains up to date on the latest technology, industry trends, and best practices.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED required.
- 4-6 years of experience in Utility Operations or a related field.
- Experience with data tracking software, such as CMMS.
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Ability to operate hand and power tools.
- Knowledge of control systems.
- Effective communication, both written and oral.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methodologies or other continuous improvement techniques.
- Must be able to support 24/7 manufacturing facility, including shift, on-call, and weekends.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in mechanical, electrical, applied engineering, or industrial technology preferred.
- Prior utility operations experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
- Experience using Microsoft Office.
- Experience with developing and implementing preventative maintenance programs.
- Experience in project management or leading cross-functional teams.
